Description
Writing the First Edition of this sociological book, which has been my long-term goal, gives me a great deal of pleasure. I give thanks to God for providing me with the endurance and resolve necessary to complete the task. In order to become a successful nurse in society, we want to share our views with the nursing community through this book. A scientific field called sociology examines how society’s social institutions work. Every nursing student should understand sociology because society is made up of people who have different cultures, ideas, beliefs, practices, and taboos. As a result, a nurse acquires the skills necessary to provide nursing care as they come into contact with those individuals in their nursing care setting. Sociology essentially aids the nurse in comprehending the intricate interactions between the individual, society, and environment, allowing the nurse to act as a mediator to maintain the equilibrium between the individual, society, and environment in terms of delivering comprehensive medical care for healthy living. The ultimate goal is to equip a nurse to take on different roles in society as a skilled communicator, social researcher, counsellor, and caregiver in order to promote and restore people’s health and avoid sickness. People’s expectations for nursing care have changed over time, and they now demand that all nurses provide excellent, patient-centered care. Therefore, before providing care to the people in the community, the nurse should be properly prepared. The students who read this book will undoubtedly get more in-depth information about how society works, current social issues, social stratification, social process, basic sociological concepts, racism, clinical sociology, social mobility, social control, and other topics. The chapters’ explanations are enhanced with pertinent graphics, and their contents are clearly expressed. There are stimulating and engaging multiple-choice questions at the end of each chapter. Additionally, this book’s contents have been revised to meet the standards of the Indian Nursing Council, so students enrolled in any nursing-related courses, including general nursing, bachelor’s, and even master’s programmes, can use this book as a reference. Anyone who reads this book will undoubtedly get good grades and form positive attitudes about other members of society. I send my warmest wishes to the students.
